Chowchilla is a city in Madera County, California with a population of 18,000 residents. Chowchilla is located just north of Highways 99 & 152, a very calm and soothing town. The small town of Chowchilla offers a suburban feel, which can be nice for families looking for more space than larger densely packed cities and a good area to raise children.

Edward Ray Park
This highly used park is located in a residential area in the north end of town on N Fifteenth Street. It is the largest city park at 27.4 acres. The park also has two lighted softball fields, one lighted baseball field, and a full-size lighted soccer field in addition to unlighted soccer areas.

 

Veterans Memorial Park
This lovely 2.1-acre park is located on the main street of Chowchilla, Robertson Boulevard, and is the first park set aside with the founding of the settlement that came to be known as Chowchilla in the early 1900s. Various community gatherings and special events are held at this attractive park. In addition to on-street parking spaces, amenities include a playground, park benches, horseshoe courts, restrooms, and two park pavilions that can be rented for picnics.

 

RC Wisener Park
This park is known as the home of the Chowchilla Little League and is located across the street from the Chowchilla City Hall and the Police Department. On-street parking surrounds most of the 4.5-acre park that features two well-maintained, lighted baseball fields and one unlit smaller baseball field for younger players. A concession stand is operated by the Little League and is open during baseball games. The park also has a playground, park benches, restrooms, and the Rotary Pavilion that can be rented for picnics.
